Iced Apple Cider

ingredients

  • ½ gallon apple juice, unsweetened & unpasteurized
  • 6 each 2″ cinnamon sticks
  • ½ vanilla bean pod, scraped
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt

directions

In a medium sized pot, bring apple juice, cinnamon sticks, and vanilla bean pod and scrapings to a boil.

Reduce to a simmer, uncovered for about 20-30 minutes, or until the apple juice mixture has been reduced to 7 cups.

Remove from heat, add sugar, and a pinch of salt.

Chill and serve.
