As part of our new Cooking is an Art and a Science, your cafe chef will show how special techniques come alive.  We’ll be featuring a dish that exemplifies the SEAR skill on today’s menu.

Mythbustingalert! Contrary to popular belief, searing a steak doesn’t seal in its juices. Instead, this high heat technique is a fundamental flavor-building step. Direct contact with a hot pan quickly browns the surface of a food, creating delicious flavor compounds and an attractive brown crust.
