For the month of September, we’re focusing on the nutrition and flavor benefits of eating food that is harvested close to home and in season.
Join us September 29th for a lunch entree prepared entirely from locally grown and crafted ingredients!
Well-Being Challenge
This month, we challenge you to get to know your food – and where it comes from – by completing at least one of the suggestions below.
1. Visit a farmer’s market. Purchasing food from farmers’ markets supports your local community and gives you access to the freshest, most seasonal food around. Go a step further and talk to your local farmers and food producers.
2. Join a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Joining a CSA gives you a regular supply of the farm’s fresh, seasonal, local bounty, encouraging you to eat more fruits and vegetables that you might not otherwise try.
3. Grow your own. Food doesn’t get much fresher than what you grow in your backyard, window, kitchen counter, or patio! Even in small spaces you can grow herbs and salad greens.
